Kate Bensen

Kate ensures that the stories behind the impactful work we do are shared within the company and beyond. Kate is able to build cohesive narratives that shine a light on what we do and why we do it.

With a degree in Journalism, Kate came to Today from Oxfam, where she spent years travelling globally to remote communities to report on aid programs. Kate is experienced in conducting long-form interviews, and directing film and photography projects that document people’s lives and tell their stories.

Kate is an experienced writer, with an ability to translate industry-specific language into accessible content. With a passion for sharing narratives emerging from the not-for-profit space, Kate has an ear for a good story, articulating the things that usually go undocumented. She has extensive experience working with at-risk communities and is sensitive to the impacts of trauma and mental health.

At Today, Kate has driven successful collaboration across multiple federal government departments to shape content for the future of myGov with the DTA.
